EV titan Tesla Inc TSLA has opened a plethora of positions pertaining to its Semi electric truck, notably in Nevada where its high-volume factory is in progress.

Tesla’s Energetic Move: The company has posted over 80 job openings on its career page dedicated to the Semi. These vacancies are distributed across Nevada, California, and Texas. All the roles are full-time and categorized under areas such as construction and facilities, design, engineering, and manufacturing, among others.

The array of job opportunities in Nevada strongly suggests that completion of the first high-volume Semi factory is on the horizon. The Semi factory at the Nevada gigafactory was unveiled in January 2023, alongside a 100 GWh 4680 cell factory.

Semi Volume Production: In a recent episode of Jay Leno’s Garage on YouTube, Tesla executives Lars Moravy and Franz von Holzhausen projected volume production of the Semi to commence in 2024. They also mentioned that the company currently operates around 100 Semis in its fleet and is collaborating with PepsiCo, the recipient of the first Tesla Semi trucks, to evaluate the vehicle’s durability.

Tesla introduced the semi-truck in 2017 and made a few deliveries to PepsiCo in December 2022, after which updates on the vehicle have been infrequent.
